Quick recap of the past three days!
8/8 - We woke up early to catch the first ferry from the San Jorge port to the big islands on the lake. After arriving we took a taxi to get to Monkey Island Hostel in Merida (10/10 would recommend) and ate a delicious lunch. After lunch, we kayaked over to the island with the monkeys and fed them bananas!
8/9 - Woke up early again to make the five hour trek up the side of the volcano to the cascades. After we got back to the hostel Eli and I rode horses along the coast of the island. We had to make it back in time for the last ferry to San Jorge, but we still had time to stop at the Ojo de Agua, an incredible swimming pool filled by natural water.
8/10 - After the tough hike, we were all sore muscles, so we spent the day relaxing, swimming in the pool, and enjoying our last couple days of fresh tortillas, the open market, and mangoes...
